Ever wanted to be a cheese wedge with too many legs? That's a weird want, but you're in luck!

This project was a massive undertaking for me, and I wouldn't have been able to do it alone. Massive thanks to ChrysAnim for helping animate all of the locomotion cycles on this model!

You can try the avatar before you buy!

-Features-

  • Custom Taurgal Avatar Unity Package
  • Source files to make your own custom avatar
  • Four alternate texture toggles
  • Seven different expressions mapped to hand gestures (this can be toggled off!)
  • Seven sliders and four toggles for body customizations
  • Quest compatible version (yes, EVERYTHING works on Quest too!)
  • A seat collider that can be disabled, set to friends only, or set to anybody
  • A completely custom animation set for locomotion

-Prerequisites Needed-

-Model Statistics-

  • 19,970 tris
  • 1 material slot
  • 1 skinned mesh
  • 94 bones
  • 43 shape keys including visemes, blinking, expressions, and body customizations

-Terms of Use-

  • You may not use this avatar/model for commercial purposes.
  • You may not share assets related to this avatar with people who have not purchased this product.
  • You may not upload this avatar to VRChat as a public avatar unless you make a custom texture or substantial mesh modifications
  • You may not use this model to promote a political agenda.
  • You may not modify this model in any way that attacks any person or personally identifying factor.

-Known Issues-

  • Full body tracking and MMD animations do not work well with this avatar. Due to Unity limitations that cannot be remedied on Quest, the forelegs will forcefully bend forward when using full body tracking.
  • If you disable 'Self Interact' in VRChat, lower body rotation will not work properly.
  • Worlds that change the direction of gravity will cause major issues and make the lower body behave in extremely unexpected ways.

-Model Editing Guidelines-

If you wish to edit the model in any way, there are a couple of important details you need to know.

  • Adding, removing, or modifying bones in any way can cause major issues. If you plan on adding any rigged props or accessories to the avatar, it is highly recommended that you attach it to your model in Unity.
  • Adding additional material slots to the model may seem to break it at first. This is because the prefabs included in the Unity package contain unpacked meshes. If you need to add additional materials to the model, you will need to manually specify how many material slots the model has in the prefab’s Skinned Mesh Renderer component.
  • If you plan on changing the texture of the Taurgal, it is recommended that you use a prefab located in the ‘Basic Taurgals’ folder. Prefabs in the included scene file have animators that will immediately revert their textures since they have four textures built in. Basic Taurgal prefabs do not contain this feature and are ideal for applying custom textures.
  • When re-exporting the model from a 3D program to Unity, make sure to use the correct scaling. For Blender, this can be done by setting the applied scale to ‘FBX All’. For Maya, the model needs to be exported in meters.
